About Buckley The town of Buckley was incorporated in 1890 and grew rapidly due to the abundant natural resources in the area. The town sits in the shadow of Mount Rainier on a plateau above the Puyallup River valley. The community is a closeknit small town that is close enough to the urban centers of Puget Sound to provide the best of both worlds.
